Dedicated and passionate about short film, the Edinburgh Short Film Festival is a rapidly-growing, specialist short film festival that screens 8 nights of short film in Scotland’s stunningly beautiful capital city, every year beginning in late October. The festival has brought some of the best contemporary Scottish, UK and international short film to the Scottish capital since its inception in 2011. This year’s event opens each Autumn and closes with a closing night party and awards ceremony in November. The ESFF will be screening at venues across Edinburgh from the Filmhouse and Cameo cinemas to Summerhall. There’s Funding Workshops, Script Pitching Competitions, Networking Sessions, Interviews and we're also making awards for Best Director and Best Animated Short Film! Each year we curate screenings of some of our best short films for international festivals around the world, we've worked with the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival as well as the Sardinia Film Festival and in 2017 we will also be working with Short Shorts Film Festival, Japan's biggest short film festival & MECAL - the Barcelona International Short Film Festival. http://www.edinburghshortfilmfestival.com
